Fun downhills, great views and grunt climbs are the norm throughout most of this passage. More grass lined singletrack waits, but this time the hills get a bit nastier. There are a few short HAB bits and some descent hills to climb, but the reward is always worth the effort.ĪES: Kentucky Camp ’12 (Passages 4*, 5, 6*) Mostly tall grass lined singletrack through rolling hills throughout, this passage should be on your ‘must ride’ list. When people talk about riding Kentucky Camp, this is the passage they are referring to. The AES Kentucky Camp long route utilizes this section of the AZT northbound including all of passage 5 and a few miles of passage 6. Even the short 1 ½ mile out-and-back (OnB) south to the Wilderness boundary is worth doing. The northern few miles are really good as you exit Gardner Canyon onto the Flume trail. The return ride down to Patagonia is rippin’ fast! I probably won’t ride this section again since it’s an out-n-back, but I wouldn’t tell others to avoid it either. I rode the southern leg of this recently and I’m glad I did as it was incredibly scenic, remote, but mostly on jeep road that became unrideably steep near the Wilderness boundary. Unfortunately there’s a sliver of Wilderness about 2/3 the way through this passage. Re-supply waits at the end of this passage in Patagonia. The west half of the Canelos rides much better than the east offering more stretches of singletrack through the rolling hills. Hopefully this will give prospective riders an idea of what to expect out there. A few more are partially in Wilderness, but have some bike legal miles to ride, some are worth it, and some are not. There are a few passages exclusively in Wilderness, where bikes are not allowed, so I’ll be skipping those. If bikepacking is in your plans, this water table may come in handy too. Also, while out on the trail, the AZT app is a great resource as well. Please consider becoming a member of the ATA, make a donation and/or pick up a guidebook if you see more AZT miles in your future as it provides a more in depth look at each passage. This is by no means a substitute for the AZT guidebook, just my thoughts on the trail. I thought it would be cool to put together a comprehensive post on all the passages my tires have rolled on. Only a few stray rideable miles remain, about 11 or so scattered around, but those can wait until April. ![]() If a tile isn't worked by a Citizen, its yield goes to waste, no matter how high it is. They will occupy the tiles around their city, working them and thus granting the city the yields these tiles currently have. Always aim to ensure plenty of Food surplus, along with continuously increasing Housing, and your city will grow steadily and become more and more useful.Īs in previous games, the Citizens of a city also act as the basic workforce of your empire. You can always find a detailed description of all factors affecting population growth in the first City Details screen, along with practical advice on how to accelerate growth. To summarize: the final growth factor of a city's population depends not only on Food (as in previous games), but also on Housing and available Amenities. ![]() (Attacks over river still suffer the corresponding penalty.) This is valid even before the Classical Era, when Bridges are added to normal Roads. Cities next to rivers will gain bridges across those rivers, which means a unit moving into and out of the City Center does not suffer a river crossing penalty in its movement points. The City Center, like other districts, comes with a road. The City Center tile is always worked and does not require any citizen to produce yields.(Certain age effects may modify the initial Population.). The initial Population of the new city is 1 by default. The final yield will be 2 Food, 2 Production and 1 Faith. Founding a city on Tundra tiles as Russia (no matter Flat or Hill) will add the yield to 2 Food and 1 Production first, then add 1 Production and 1 Faith over it. Russia's ability makes all Tundra tiles (with a basic yield of 1 Food, and +1 Production for Hills) have +1 Production and +1 Faith.Suppose there is an Incense resource there - it will add an additional 1 Faith to the tile yield, while also 1 count of Incense is added to the empire. In another example, flat Desert has no yield whatsoever settling a city there, however, will increase that tile's yield to 2 Food, 1 Production.Founding a city on a Plains Hills tile will add 1 Food to the tile, resulting in the City Center having 2 Food and 2 Production. For example, Plains Hills have a native yield of 1 Food and 2 Production. Also, strategic and luxury resources are automatically accessed by the new City Center. Resources (all types) remain on the tile their bonus yields continue to apply, if they bring the tile's Food or Production above 2 (or if they are other yield types).Note also that any yields previously added to the base terrain (by Wonders, Disasters or anything else) remain, making the tile more valuable! Plains Hills add an additional point of Production (but Hills on other terrain won't). The yield of the tile occupied by the City Center is increased to 2 Food and 1 Production if either was previously lower (before any bonus yields are applied).Note that the feature is removed, not harvested, and you won't receive any lump yields. Any removable terrain feature on the tile ( Rainforest, Marsh, Woods) will be removed even if you don't have the necessary technology.Any Barbarian Outpost on a claimed tile is destroyed (although any barbarian units within range will remain) any Tribal Village is activated and its benefit received. If any of these tiles are already owned by another civilization or city-state, the closest neutral tiles within 3 hexes of the new City Center are claimed instead. Upon settling, the six tiles adjacent to the new City Center are claimed by the city's owner. When the "Found City" ability of the Settler is activated, the City Center of the new city is placed on the tile the Settler previously occupied. The Settler Lens See Lens (Civ6) Effects of Settling If there is a body of water in between the two City Centers (i.e., if one City Center is on a different landmass), this distance requirement drops to 3 hexes (2 hexes between, so that the innermost ring of both cities cannot overlap).Normally, a city must be at least 4 hexes away from any other City Center (3 hexes between any two City Centers). The player will gain use of that resource (if it is strategic or luxury) and the resource's bonus yields. Cities may be founded on top of resources.Cities cannot be founded on natural wonder tiles, even if they are passable. You can found cities on terrain features (all but Oasis), although most of these will be removed on foundation. Cities must be founded on land, on a valid, passable tile.Unlike previous Civilization games, the names of cities settled after the Capital are now chosen randomly from a list rather than in a specific order. "That's because HIV is most prevalent in under-resourced communities where a civil suit would be pointless, since people without money and regular employment are essentially damages-proof." "You see so few civil suits concerning alleged HIV transmission," says Catherine Hanssens of the Center for HIV Law and Policy. Herpes suits could also be more common due to the financial resources of people who contract and pass on herpes. In some cases, patients may experience flu-like symptoms, headaches, or have difficulty passing urine. You can suffer outbreaks at any time-lesions that crust over or bleed itching and even painful open sores. Why sue over herpes, and not, for example, gonorrhea? It could be due to the incurable nature of the former. In one example from 1996, a 32-year-old woman sued her ex-boyfriend for knowingly exposing her to, and infecting her with, herpes. Most of the cases listed on the site involve women suing their heterosexual partners for considerable sums of money. There are few records of the total number of STD transmission lawsuits filed over the years, but Herpes News, a blog for those who have the virus, says that civil suits involving herpes stretch back over two decades. Features Overview In 2018, Apple formally discontinued both products, exiting the router market. In approximately 2016, Apple disbanded the wireless router team that developed the AirPort Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme router. The 2013 802.11ac model was re-packaged into a more vertical case, taller than it is square. From 2007 to 2013 the Extreme was packaged in a rounded-rectangle white plastic housing, similar in layout and size to the Mac mini or earlier Apple TVs. The earliest models were packaged similar to the original AirPort Base Station, in a round housing known as the "flying saucer". The AirPort Extreme has gone through three distinct physical forms. In 2013, a major upgrade added 802.11ac support and more internal antennas. Several minor upgrades followed, mostly to change antenna and power in the Wi-Fi. With the addition of the even faster Draft-N standards in early 2009 this naming was dropped, and from then on only the gateway has been known as the AirPort Extreme. At that time the gateway part of this lineup was known as the AirPort Extreme Base Station. The name "AirPort Extreme" originally referred to any one of Apple's AirPort products that implemented the (then) newly introduced 802.11g Wi-Fi standard, differentiating it from earlier devices that ran the slower 802.11a and b standards. Versions of the same system with a built-in network-accessible hard drive are known as the AirPort Time Capsule.Īpple discontinued developing its lineup of wireless routers in 2016, but as of 2023 continues limited hardware and software support. The latest model, the 6th generation, supports 802.11ac networking in addition to older standards. The AirPort Extreme is a residential gateway combining the functions of a router, network switch, wireless access point and NAS as well as varied other functions, and one of Apple's former AirPort products.
